Meet Joanna

Essential Elements interiors

The Principal Designer for Essential Elements Interiors, Joanna has a passion for design, art, color, style, and detail.  She established Essential Elements Interiors in 2016, after a lifetime of corporate HR work.

While some think it's intimidating, she really enjoys designing and selecting materials - even for whole house custom construction so that the home becomes the perfect backdrop for the furnishings.

Listening to the client's vision, likes, dislikes, must-have's, existing pieces that need to be included, how they want the space to function, and budget goals are "essential elements" to Joanna's design process.

Joanna strives to create an environment that is cohesive, a bit eclectic, harmonious, and never cluttered; in a way that reflects you.

"We just completed a whole home renovation after devastating flooding with Harvey.  Joanna helped me completely redesign the space in the rustic Italian style we love.  She really listened to what we wanted and how we wanted to use our space.  She made an overwhelming situation simple and straight forward, and was always available to consult with and get my questions answered.  I was very happy with the quality of the decor items she found - at reasonable prices.  We are thrilled with the end result." -- Ellen D.

"I've worked with EEI on two projects now - completely furnishing a rental with great style on a tight budget, and then on my own home.  My rental is fully booked and I get great feedback on the style from guests.  For my own home, Joanna helped me to achieve my own personal vision for a modern space and was great at listening to and incorporating my goals and preferences.  My place only looks like I spent a fortune, and it functions beautifully!" -- Tyler F.

"Joanna has helped me redesign and renovate my town home, as well as furnish a second apartment to make it feel like home.  She is so fun to work with and has helped me to incorporate more dimension to achieve a more transitional style that is uncluttered and timeless."  -- Nicole B.
